Week notes 2026-23
- Convinced myself to take part in Junited 2026; I'm not sharing a link every day, necessarily, but will be updating my page as the month goes along.
- Finally pulled photos from last weekend (May 29-31) from my camera and drone; I've got some good shots from the classic car show but will have to wait to finish my roll of film before I can see the shots from that one. The drone footage was just playing around in the yard, got fun photos and videos of bugging my dog (I don't think she enjoys the sound of the propellers).
- We are finalizing some details and checking things off for our upcoming trip. Very exciting and it's making it more "real".
- I finished reading The Buffalo Hunter Hunter. I really enjoyed it. For my next read I pulled a collection of Isaac Asimov's short stories, Earth is Room Enough.
- Spoke to a co-worker about it, and he gave me some book recommendations: "Whalefall" and "Angel Down" by Daniel Kraus and he let me know that Stephen Graham Jones has a novel coming in October (a follow-up to "The Only Good Indians")
- Overall: A good week.
2026 projects and goals
Last week's goals
- Do my best ✅
I did my best. I hit two home runs on Monday, and my sleep got progressively better as the week went on. We weren't able to get out to the gym—for reasons out of our control—but overall we remained very active. There was a lot of self-care on the weekend.
This week's goals
- Finalize items for upcoming vacation
- Hit another home run?
- Photography: Refine some photos from the classic car show
- Writing: complete one piece of writing from my to-write list
Link Rolloff
Links removed from my Shared Links on Raindrop
- Stop AI-Shaming Our Precious, Kindly Em Dashes—Please - The Ringer - Again I don't have notes on where I found this, but I enjoy the well-written defense of Em Dashes and that they don't necessarily signify something was written by an LLM.
