Week Notes 2026-09
I will start off with the best thing I found this week: a trucker style ballcap with "Park Ranger Endor", featuring an image of an Ewok, at the grocery store. The picture below is of the t-shirt I saw first, but the hat is much better.
We drove back home Wednesday and true to form for 2026 we ended up in a snow storm right at the end of the trip. In the heart of the city it was nearly impossible to see anything and the roads were terrible. But as we got closer to our exit from the highway it cleared up and was...fine? But it would be nice to not drive through a storm and dangerous roads for once.
I kept finding great inexpensive BluRay and 4K discs last week: Apollo 13 on 4K, and seasons 3 & 4 of Star Trek: The Next Generation. I was most happily surprised about the TNG sets - since Star Trek left Netflix I decided to get as many disc sets I can get my hands on. The collection is growing.
I finished reading The High Road; I'm waiting until April to start the last of the series, Operation Angus, because the "journal entry" conceit doesn't start until then. Nice break for a bit, so I started a bunch of other books. It might sound overwhelming but I've gotten used to hopping between books.
Véronique continues to put out new issues of her zine, Moonbow. I haven't read them in a bit but she's super talented and inspiring; I intend to make a zine and maybe I will some day. I'd like to write about the albums I've listened to through the first quarter this year and I think that would make a great little zine.
Lastly I decided on a couple of things this week for social media:
- I need to quit scrolling reddit. The posts and comments are just Too Much™ - so for now I'm only going to the site to "safe" zones and with specific intent.
- I'm done with social media after I get home from work during the week. I need the break, and it will help me carve out time for other things I want to do.
2026 projects and goals
The challenge this week was to get back into food logging, as I pretty much stopped when I took some vacation days and went out of town. That task started Thursday and as I type this (Sunday afternoon) I'm in good shape.

- Continue working on current puzzle (Rogers Centre wooden puzzle) ✅
This week's goals:
Carrying over some of last week's plus New ones for good measure.
