Week notes 2026-43
This week was dominated by back pain Tuesday and Wednesday, dissipating slightly by Thursday. My personal trainer suggested my hips were out of alignment, which makes sense because when we started our workout (which focuses on the hips), my back felt the loosest it had been throughout the day. So of course when I went home and sat horribly I re-aggravated the pain. But as I adjusted through the rest of Thursday it got better. Still bugging me today, but it doesn't hurt to sit properly1.
It was also dominated by two tire changes (we have two cars) and an impromptu hockey game, as I received some free last-minute tickets to the Sens vs. Sharks game from my friend.
Beyond that, my wife and I tackled the future baby's room and emptied it out (mostly—there's still some work to be done). We're giving it the clean slate treatment, so that when we have time, we can get what we need for it.
Miscellaneous stuff
- After deciding to take a break from Star Wars Outlaws I discovered that you can change an outfit's appearance while maintaining gameplay benefits of said outfit. So I dove back into the game for a little bit. NOW I'm taking a break.
- Unfortunately I had to end my FUTO keyboard experiment. I was growing too frustrated with the auto-correction, and admittedly, I missed GIF integration as well as Google's emoji kitchen.
- Watched X-Files S3E11: "Revelations" — I liked this one more than I thought I would from the episode description and religious theme. It was nice to have a Scully-focused episode again! This time her religious beliefs were challenged and required Mulder to get on board. Although, it was a little frustrating that Mulder finds it so easy to believe in aliens and supernatural phenomena but can't suspend disbelief in possible miracles from God. It had a fantastic guest cast as well.
- I have mere days remaining to read my copy of The Notebook: A History of Thinking on Paper and I have so much more to go! I've already renewed the ebook once, I'm not sure if I'll be able to a 3rd time. I may need to find...alternative means. 👀
- I have a post idea to write about my "Random playlist" I created in Apple Music eons ago using smart playlist rules. Maybe I'll get to that this week.

This paragraph was already getting too long so I put the rest of it down here. Quick version: to sit so that my back wouldn't prevent me from moving after standing up, I was working my back really hard, so could not stay seated for more than 10 or 15 minutes at a time. Thankfully I have a sit/stand desk in the office so if I used it standing that helped a lot.↩
