Week notes 2026-20
It's Sunday morning as I type this, with a fresh cup of coffee and my daily glass of Emergen-C in front of me. I got some good news last night (that I can't share yet, hopefully soon) so I feel good. I've got music on, the local radio station's chill sunday morning show is playing through my iPod on a Bose speaker1. A very nice morning; at some point I have to break it up and get things done.
The start of this week was hard to get going. Monday morning I had a lot of trouble staying awake at work, so I sought some ambient music. Here's a good one: Ambient music - Background music for exploration/base-building games. It worked really well on Monday and also helped drown out the extra noisy shared space in the office that day. Fortunately I didn't need this playlist too much as the week went on and I got better rest.
By contrast the end of the week was different. For the first time in several months my wife travelled for a conference Thursday afternoon leaving me to my own devices. I got caught up on season 2 of Andor as well as playing some games. I finished Week 3 of my MLB The Show 24 franchise, and packed in a few other things I don't get the chance to do while my wife's home. She comes home this afternoon so, like I said, I have to break away if I want to sneak in a few more things ;)
I kept the goals short and sweet and I think I'm going to do the same in the coming week. There's always so much happening in the summer.
2026 projects and goals
Last week's goals
- Writing: piano mini blocks project; "clouds" photos ✅
I didn't complete the write-up for the piano bricks project, but I'm happy to push that to this week. I have pictures of both that and the mini Arc de Triomphe set that I'm going to combine into one. As for the "clouds" photo post - I did that yesterday (Saturday) but it's not going live until tomorrow. - Healthy Habits (esp. sleep) ❌
I give myself an "X" mainly because of my irregular sleep. I also took a break from food logging because I was so tired and really needed a break. Technically that is a healthy habit for mental health but I'm not properly managing things.
This week's goals
- Restart food logging
- Try for better sleep
- Writing: piano mini block project
- Hobbies: Set up a playlist to record to a cassette
