Week Notes 2026-16
We returned from being away the previous week so the beginning of the week was largely devoted to returning to routine. The week was also very wet - a lot of rain, unfortunately. But the weather finally turned beautiful Friday and I was able to get out for some drone flying with my friend. I wanted a nice open area to get used to the controls, as the only practice I've had to date has been in a limited area with lots of trees and wires. I got some decent test shots and video but nothing to write home about. I loved that I was able to finally test the "quick shots" with the space to do it.
That also gave me a great idea - we got the windows on our sedan tinted on Wednesday, so when we get our summer tires on with our nice rims I want to take it to a parking lot and do a drone circle around the car to show it off. I had some fun with Adobe Premiere this weekend so I have ideas for that, too.
This was a very good week for 2026 and we're getting closer to softball season!1
2026 projects and goals
Last week's goals
- re-establish healthy habits: floss & brush at night; calorie logging (+ make serious attempt to stay below target); keep hitting step target ✅❌ Hit and miss here. My calorie logging has been consistent but I'm not staying below my target. Weight fluctuates daily. I'm nailing my step target though! I think I'll need to review it in a few weeks. Oral care at night is inconsistent.
- Fun goal! Play a little bit of *Star Wars Outlaws ✅ Played on Monday and Wednesday and Saturday. Had a blast. I still love stealth but sometimes don't mind when I blow it and have to have a firefight. Getting used to combat techniques; and it's amazingly fun to blast stormtroopers with grenades from the bushes. I wish I recorded more gameplay, though.
- Writing: game review (Yoshi's Island) ❌ Did not complete this one. Will try again this week.
- Hobby: assemble new LEGO knock-off set (& record progress)✅ This was fun. Took 16 minutes to assemble according to the video I took. Turned it into a time lapse later.
This week's goals
- Writing: game review (Yoshi's Island)
- For fun: use one pen until the ink runs dry
- Photography: find interesting things to photograph with new camera (Pentax point & shoot)
- Writing: short write-up of the new camera
- To-do: book vet appointment; book hotel for return trip from vacation; replace license plates on the car
- Hobby/fun: Pending nice weather, some more drone flying with focus on getting better photos & video.

- Mer Bleue Bog 'filled with bombs,' according to new drone scans | CBC News - Interesting to learn. Apparently they're considered "safe".
- Start something of your own ☼ Vintage Versace ☼ Experimental restaurant design - Love the message of this post. Despite the fact that some of the personal experience related is the usual combination of luck, that's not the takeaway here. It's that if you want to make something in the world happen, just do it - it doesn't have to be successful or super profitable, just something that excites you.
- recent improvements | ava's blog - Simple post but relatable. Maybe I could write a list like this?
- Brad Sucks - Making Me Nervous (Animated Music Video) - YouTube - Animated music video created by three animation students in the Czech Republic.

We got our softball gear out of storage when we got our summer tires out for the car. We want to book some time at the batting cages soon.↩
