Week Notes 2026-10

I was disappointed at the start of the week when I couldn't see Tuesday's total lunar eclipse. I read about it the day before and knew that I would be awake during totality; but as it turned out, the moon was too close to the horizon line and I had no way of seeing it from my house.

Everything else last week was much better! My wife and I decided to go to the Charge vs Torrent PWHL game on Wednesday - a great game that had a rare 30-minute delay because the ice got damaged during the pre-game ceremony. I learned after that we also witnessed history: the first ever goal scored on a penalty shot in the PWHL! (Too bad it was Seattle that scored it.)

Also this week, my birthday was on Thursday. I took the day off and spent it with my wife. It was a chill day, spending some time shopping (I got my prerequisite free Starbucks drink and a pair of $200 softball cleats) but also some time at home. Got some video games in and we caught up on a little TV.

The thing I spent the most time on though was trying to figure out my new phone battery. The life still seems incredibly short so I'm trying to figure out if that's true or if I need to bring it back to the store that installed it and ask "what gives".

Also just today (Sunday) I completed a quest for Star Wars Outlaws without once consulting a walkthrough!

2026 projects and goals

I haven't paid attention to Cronometer in quite some time. I know that I've gone way over my saturated fat targets every day. But I haven't done a deep dive and try to rectify the situation.

On the bright side my weight has held steady!

I'm struggling with putting a podcast episode together - it's easy enough to assemble what I need but the difficult part is figuring out what I want to do. So...for now I'm going to leave that one as "missed" and come back to it another week.
