Tuesday Thoughts
At one point in the last couple of weeks I thought about doing on of those lists of people's blogs that I follow; I decided instead to sprinkle links to people's blogs in regular posts. Like this one! Last week Veronique wondered about different options for premium content/private posts and we had a little e-mail exchange over the long weekend (we're both Canadian!). I suggested focusing on music, and also that she shouldn't feel bad about pushing for a few extra dollars on a free blog platform. I think it's fine. You should get in touch with her. Bonus - she is a fan of radio, and I can always support that.1

I recently read a post from tiramisú and liked how he2 separated his thoughts with an emoji. Stealing that idea. I haven't settled on a separator but for this post I'm using a pilcrow.

I checked my numbers this morning, and I am on track with my 12-week weight loss plan. From July 24th to August 7th, I'm down 1.1 pounds. I'm in week 3 so I don't expect to be down a total of 1.5 pounds until morning of August 14th. I'm not doing anything crazy just yet - the plan is based on keeping below a specific calorie goal. Adding in more exercise comes later, when softball season is done. Which actually could be until the end of October, maybe? I can't remember the dates for that.

My wife and I are currently up north, staying with her parents to help take care of them. Her Mom had total hip replacement surgery at the beginning of July; her recovery is going well but there are still a few things she can't do (like drive). We're going to be here for another two weeks - it's a little weird that for the entire month of July, we've only been in our house for...10 days?
But what is great is the weather. It gets hot here, but it's a dry heat. And it cools down at night. Far cry from what we deal with back home, where it's hot AND humid and doesn't cool down. We don't need air conditioning here to sleep and/or survive.
