Thrift Notebooks

On the weekend, I bought a pack of five notebooks from a thrift store for $ 5.99. I bought it mainly because one of them was a hardcover notebook, and I was checking it to see if it was maybe a Moleskine. And it turns out, actually, it was a Leuchtturm 1917. Considering they retail around $20+ Canadian, this was a steal! As a bonus, the notebook pages were dotted, which is what I prefer for bullet journals. The word faire was on the front, I'm not sure if that was manually indented or if it came that way. I haven't decided if I'm going to cover it with a sticker or not.

But in the package there were four other notebooks. One of them was a thin A5 notebook, something labelled as Bieffe, made in Italy. I think locally you can get these from Winners or Marshall's, but the link I provided is from Amazon Canada. The other three notebooks were pocket-sized, just a bit thicker than the pocket size Moleskine notebooks you find in a three-pack.

There's nothing inherently special about these notebooks. The brand is Èccolo, and the name is "World Traveler". So, travel notebooks I guess? But the interesting part was what was in two of the notebooks. In one, the first page (double-sided) was a list of "favourite quotes"; in the other, "favourite scriptures". I guess whoever owned these notebooks had plans to keep track of quotes and scriptures but abandoned the project and ended up dumping these in the donation pile.

Here I have a picture of the pages as well as transcriptions of the quotes and scriptures. I'm not sure what to make of the selection yet. If you have any ideas or input, let me know!

  1. Apparently the actual verse is "He redeems my soul in peace from the battle waged against me, even though many oppose me."
