Some Blackout Poetry
A while back (probably closer to two years ago) I was inspired by Austin Kleon's posts about blackout poetry to create some of my own. I didn't make very many, but sometimes I get the inkling to create some. So I took some of the quotes I highlighted from the book Outsider and created some silly things. Because this is done purely with CSS you can highlight the passage to see the full quote, if you like.
When I feel like I’m starting to get weird up here,” he said, “I run down to the highway and I take a bus into the city. Then I stop in at a McDonald’s and I order a sandwich and I sit down and I see these people, all these people, and none of them are talking to each other. They just stare at their phones.” He looked at me for confirmation. “Is that how people live now?”
“Do you want to know the secret of longevity?” he asked. “Definitely,” I replied. “Don’t fill your life with things to worry about. If you start to worry about one thing, you worry about everything. The weather, money, other people, your car, your house, the grass.”
I didn't really have any other quotes - I looked into some other highlighted passages from other books but didn't find anything that really sparked interest.
