Self-hosted webmail

On...Monday? Yes, Monday. I looked into a solution for self-hosted webmail on my server. I have email already self-hosted, and I can access it via apps on my phone & iPad, and Thunderbird on desktop. But sometimes I want to access it on my desktop at work...and I can't add third party accounts to Outlook nor can I install any third party programs.

Yesterday I found out about Roundcubemail and started the process of installing it - stupidly, with Termius on my phone instead of at a keyboard - but gave up. I kept getting stuck. However...a reply to my Mastodon post asking for suggestions has pointed me to a possible path where I might change my server from httpd to Apache or something. We'll see. That seems like a multi-hour undertaking. Another possibility: see if I can get a version of it running on my at-home Linux Mint machine, and then see if I can make it available to the web (privately).
