re: Why a Daily Recap?

In a recent post, jarunmb wrote a sort of response to one of my posts about his daily recap that he's been doing lately. I love the idea - more than even the two-sentence journal concept.

Initially I liked that two-sentence journal idea, but it hasn't stuck with me. I have prompts to try to push me to write, but it hasn't felt "right". I love the idea for jumping-off points for specific subjects, it just doesn't work for me for daily journalling habits.

But the daily recap seems perfect. Michael has specific parameters set for himself for these recaps, but it seems to me that you can be as limiting or permissive as you deem necessary. That's not to say that this is a "concept" or "system", it's simply a way to jot down some events or feelings from the day.

In November, my intention is to write something in my journal every day as part of Writing Month (kudos Amin), so if I don't feel the energy to write a more detailed entry, a short end-of-day recap is just what I need.
