re: Hitting my weight goal

10 days ago I launched into a 30-day sprint to get down to my weight goal. With 20 days to go (well...19 plus if you want to get technical), how am I doing?

To be frank, until I looked at that post I thought I was in rough shape. I haven't been doing well at all with calorie tracking. I already gave up tracking last weekend, and as a result of my breakthrough seizure Monday evening, it felt like I had a tough time on Tuesday. But looking at things...actually I didn't do bad.

The truly rough bit is that I have not done a good job at all at staying within my calorie goal. Other than last Saturday/Sunday (and Friday evening leading into the weekend), I have been very diligent with tracking my food. I'm actually surprised.

I'm also a tiny bit shocked that my weight seems to be coming down somewhat according to plan.

September 16th: 248.0 (scale) / 246.8 (trend)
September 26th: 247.4 (scale) / 247.0 (trend)

OK so the trend weight is not good, but the scale is going in the right direction.

Doing the math it seems like 30 days won't be enough to hit my goal. My current numbers are for a weight loss rate of 0.5 lb / week, which means I need almost 5 weeks to hit 245. BUT I am trying my best to include some additional exercise to bring the calories burned number up to help along.

If I can nudge the numbers with some extra cardio here and there I could probably get down to 245 on the trend side of things. The only issue with the scale weight is that it's very fickle and subject to wild fluctuations. I've been down as low as 245.8 but went up to 248.0 just as quickly. That's why I'm trying to rely on the trend weight.

Now, saying all that, my dog is crying desperately for a walk so I'd better get out there.
