Monday Thoughts 05
My mind is everywhere but at work today. I hit my "afternoon wall" just after 1pm; so I started writing in my journal and then eventually got up and walked around a bit. I think I must have splashed some water in my face without realizing it and shook myself out of my sluggishness.
I did some research for excursions for an upcoming vacation - but that came too easily. I found options within minutes and didn't have to do a lot of searching around. So I started reading...

I found this blog: Gitz and Glory. The blog topics aren't my cup of tea, but I love the site design. The aesthetic is old DOS and text-based games, which is a little funny since the author is in his twenties and probably never experienced that kind of tech1. Anyway, I went inspecting with developer tools and discovered the name of the font he uses:
Cascadia Code
I really like it and I feel is probably the closest I've seen to replicating that old DOS screen I vividly remember.

I mentioned in my week notes that my goal this week is to track my sleep and take notes. In other words, meaningfully track sleep and not just look at my sleep score. To that end, my score today was 58, and I feel like that matches how I feel about it.
I tossed and turned all night, and was awake for a good portion of the night. It was not restful at all and I know I'm going to need a nap after dinner / before softball.

I also mentioned in my week notes that my interest in doing so is waning. I don't know if it's the notes themselves or the process. As I type this I think it is the process. It feels like I'm doing it now out of forced habit rather than a useful desire for looking back on the week.
I'm using Obsidian less and less for tracking this stuff, at best using it to write my notes to paste here, in Bear. I need to take a more meaningful look at the week when I review it rather than just typing something out for the sake of typing it out.

There are some big changes coming in my life and I want to make time for the hobbies I want to work on now, while I have the time. That includes podcasting. I'll talk to my wife about it this week, I think.

Although what do I know - he could have sought out this tech and played with it himself, I'm just making assumptions.↩
