Mastodon and Politics
I mentioned this on Mastodon on the weekend. My feed is becoming inundated with politics; I understand why, there is a lot of turmoil in the world right now. But I come to Mastodon to interact with friends, not talk politics. I've increased the amount of filters but even that's not enough, because depending on what I use, it will probably filter out posts I want to read.
At this point I'm at least turning boosts off. It means I'll miss some good posts friends are boosting that aren't political, but that's how it will have to be. If certain accounts are posting politics that go through my filters I'll probably just unfollow. Next option after that is to stay off social media altogether.
