Robert started this fun blog community thing called "Junited". The premise is simple: create a post (or page, in my case) with links from other bloggers. It can be updated daily, weekly, whenever. There are no rules.
You can read about the details in this year's Junited post.
- June 15: let's talk about your digital remains! – ava's blog - A topic I hadn't considered before! This got me going to check my settings in Google. Turns out, I already had my wife set up there so I'm gtg on the Google front.
- June 10: So, I Found Out I Was Clickbait Content | Read Flag - It's funny...you would think common courtesy would mean journalists might reach out to you and say, "I quoted you in xyz article". I suppose it's not quite the same as writing down something a random person on the street said, because in this case it's attributed by default.
- June 9: The Newest Rant: Some People Are Mad at the new, "God of War: Laufey," Because You Play as a Female Character. Wait, Seriously? - Oh god. You know why Star Wars Outlaws was badly reviewed? Because the protagonist is female, and not conventionally "pretty". The loud Internet gamers are terrible.
- June 7: The vinyl revival spreads to CDs, DVD, other physical media – disassociated.com - I'm not sure what camp I fall under when it comes to why I'm collecting more physical media lately.
- June 5: I Left Port 22 Open for 54 Days: An SSH Honeypot Study - This is a pretty fun read. From Kai Gulliksen
- June 3: My Quest to be the Scrobble King | TimeMachiner // Presented by Aaron Crocco - Found this via fLaMEd. Great read, fun to follow TimeMachiner's process to switch over to scrobbling. (I've been scrobbling to last.fm for a while now, and I don't use it enough. Also, last.fm has since become independent again.)
- June 2: I love those disc loading tray sounds | Swimming With the Light On - Agreed. Funny that they mention Lord of the Rings specifically; this trilogy is the reason I originally bought a PS2, so that I could watch DVDs. I feel like the original PS2 had/has a distinct disc tray sound that I can hear in my head.
