Figuring out the end-game for Star Wars Outlaws
Possible game spoilers below, if you're sensitive to that.
In the last few weeks I started the final missions for Star Wars Outlaws; the whole game is leading up to putting together a big heist of a vault ("The Heist"), and in one of the cut scenes right before starting the heist there's a kind of Ocean's 11 planning scene, which is kind of cool. I digress.
Anyway I'm in the actual heist phase, having just stolen the Giant Sum of Credits1 you have to escape through the Canto Bight casino. I'm stuck here a little bit because you have to bring down a series of energy barriers. You start with one, and then you get to 2, and then 3; that's how far I've gotten until I get gunned down by thugs.
I decided to stop playing last night but have been thinking about the best way to approach this. As soon as you bring down one energy barrier, the bad guys start rushing through to start shooting. The first energy barrier is easy enough. But once you get to multiple barriers, they rush in before you get the chance to disable the second one.
The good thing about the energy barriers is that it does contain the enemies so you can kill them all before moving to the next barrier. But as I said, I'm stuck on the part with three barriers. As soon as you disable one, they start rushing in, and like most video games, there is an increasing supply of bad guys as you move through each stage.
I am trying to figure this out myself before going to YouTube or Reddit for help. My first strategy failed, which is to try to disable all the barriers at once. My next strategy I could try is to disable one energy barrier, take out the bad guys that come through, and then disable the other two barriers.
The unknown factor here is: will the enemies rushing through eventually stop?
The second option I thought of is shooting all the buttons that keep the barrier up, except for one on each barrier. The barrier stays up until you disable all of them. Then, shoot each one in sequence so that you're not trying to disable the barriers in the middle of a shootout.
And just now I thought of another strategy: can you not just disable the main barrier and rush through? I don't know if the game requires you to disable all three to move on, or if you can just rush through once you have one barrier down.
I took the disc out of my PS5 and I won't be getting back to it for another couple of weeks, so of course this is going to bother me for a while.
