For some reason, when I first heard this speech (when the series finale aired live), it generated an emotional response. Tearing up a little bit, I'd say. At the time I hadn't watched the series on a regular basis at all so had no idea of the history of the characters. And yet, the response. I guess it's a tribute to the writing of the show, and that it says a lot of things about personal accomplishments that ring true for anyone.
