Another post about writing
More than a few times, I'll see a newsletter come across my inbox and think, "I can do that. I should start a newsletter too."
I never do. There are a few reasons for that, the first being decision paralysis. What would I write about?
The second barrier is that I would be writing for an audience. A theoretical audience - I'm not egotistical enough to assume that just because I start a newsletter I would have hundreds of readers right away. But still - an audience.
Expectations pile up and pressure builds. I don't know how I would handle that. The solution for this theoretical problem would be to just write, ignoring the idea that I have to please somebody else.
But then, isn't that the purpose of this blog? That's how I approach it, anyway.
I think what I want is to be able to write a specific "thing" on a regular basis, something different than the blog platform. A newsletter, I guess; but I also don't want to think about the audience or worry if my cadence suffers for any period of time.
